IM and I went to the High Risk OB appointment today (IF had to work). I am 16wks 2days as of the date of this scan. It was a long appointment as they needed to scan everything on the babies to make sure they could see everything. They were able to see everything and measure everything that they needed, but couldn’t get a good look at all 3 hearts. So they will recheck it 2 wks. I will be seeing this OB every 2 wks from now until 32wks then it will be weekly. He doesn’t think I should go past 36wks. All you prayer warriors out there please pray that the rest of this pregnancy will go as perfect as it can in God’s Will. I am really praying that I can keep growing these babies nice and healthy and they do not come early.
Baby A measured 16wks 3days and weighed 6oz, HB 144
Baby B measured 16wks 1 day and weighed 5oz, HB 130
Baby C measured 15wks 4days and weighed 4oz, HB 149
Here are a few pics below of the baby girls! Yup….My IP’s are having 3 sweet little girls. We were all hoping for at least 1 different gender, but they are still extremely happy.
Baby A moving and shaking!
Baby B being a stinker…Best photo we could get.
Baby C just relaxing.
Babies A & C side pictures.
Well another week has flown through. This has been a very busy week for me. Mainly with work. I read on one of the pregnancy sites that at this stage the baby is the size of an avocado. So I’m growing 3 avocado this week…lol
I have an appointment with the MFM (high risk OB) on Friday. They will do an U/S to check on the babies and hopefully tell us there sex. I’ll update as soon as I can after the appointment.
My IPs and I took a photo when I was 12 wks. It’s posted below. They used this to share with some family & friends. It was their idea and it was adorable. I enjoyed it very much. They’ve allowed me to share it with y’all.
I’ve also located my previous belly pictures from my last surrogacy pregnancy with only 1 baby. I know I don’t look to big for carrying 3 babies, but it’s just the way I carry. I look pretty similar with carrying 1 baby as I do with carrying 3 babies…For now anyway! It’ll all change very soon.
Not really much has happened this week. My upper back has been a bit achey, but I’m getting prenatal massages every 2 wks now and still seeing the chiropractor 1-2 times a week to help me and keep me aligned for this tough pregnancy to come.
Here is whats going on with the babies this week…Multiply it by 3.
Your baby now weighs in at a whopping three to five ounces, and he’s four to five inches in length. The bones that are now in place in his ears means he can probably hear your voice as you talk to your partner and pals and sing in the car. While he’s getting used to your voice, the tiny muscles in his body, especially the ones in his back, are gaining strength, so he can straighten out a little more. And thanks to his developing facial muscles, your baby is capable of making a few expressive frowns and squints, even at this early stage. (Don’t worry, those frowns have nothing to do with the sound of your voice!) And his eyes are finally working, making small side-to-side movements and perceiving light (although the eyelids are still sealed). Peekaboo!
Me & IPs making their big announcement.
16wks with clothes
Me at my last singleton pregnancy at 16wks 1 day.
Holy cow it’s been 15 wks already! I truely still can’t believe that I am pregnant with triplets. I know that I have seen 3 babies on the u/s screen many times, but I don’t feel any different at all from carrying one baby. I know that will all change here real soon. I’ve had wonderful energy the entire pregnancy thus far. I haven’t had morning sickness at all (thank God). I haven’t had any naps during the day even when I’m off work and usually don’t get to bed till 11 or 12 each night… Sorry Arielle…lol.. I shoot for 10 when I can, but like tonight things can be crazy and I’m just not ready at 10.
I’ve been trying to eat as much as possible. My nutritionist wants me to eat Sardines twice a week and I finally tried them last week and again a few days later. They were not as bad as I thought. I made it like tuna fish and scooped it onto 100% Rye crackeres (only grain I can have) and added a pickle to it… It was pretty good! I can’t say if I’m eat the about of protein, fats and calories each day, but I try really hard to do it. I need to get more raw cheese at Trader Joes, I ran out. I also need to get some raw milk, but I have to travel 45min away to do that… Hopefully Fri I will do that. I am trying to fatten these babies up so hopefully when they come at 35-36wks (hoping to keep them in that long) they will be healthy enough to not need the NICU or barely at all.
So I didn’t have a Dr’s appointment this week, but I can tell the babies are getting bigger. You be the judge from this week’s pic to last weeks pic. I appreciate those who make comments and those who ‘follow’ my blog and get the emails when I update. I’ve had several people tell me how much they enjoy following my blog with triplets. This is all new territory for me. I hope that I do a great job so my Intended Parents have healthy babies and only have to focus on being parents not health concerns.
How your baby’s growing:
Your growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple, So I’m carrying 3 of these apples…lol). She’s busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in her lungs begin to develop. Her legs are growing longer than her arms now, and she move all of her joints and limbs. Although her eyelids are still fused shut, she can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, she’s likely to move away from the beam. There’s not much for your baby to taste at this point, but she is forming taste buds. Finally, if you have an ultrasound this week, you may be able to find out whether your baby’s a boy or a girl! (Don’t be too disappointed if it remains a mystery, though. Nailing down your baby’s sex depends on the clarity of the picture and on your baby’s position. He or she may be modestly curled up or turned in such a way as to “hide the goods.”)
We don’t know the sex of the babies yet so don’t get all hung up on how this article keeps saying “she”…. At my MFM appointment next friday they will do an anatomy scan. Hopefully the babies will cooperate.
15 wks clothes on
Today at 14wks 1 day I had my OB appointment. My IM couldn’t make it, but is coming to my next High Risk Dr. appointment in 2wks. I have only gained 1/2 pd since my 11wk apt. I talked to my nutritionist and she explained that since I’ve taken all the inflammatory/water weight foods out of my diet most people lose 5pds. Since the babies are growing on schedule and the Dr. wasn’t concerned there isn’t anything to worry about. My stats are below:
My bp was 120/72, my cervix measured 4.56 and my belly measured 19wks (5wks ahead)
Baby A 14wks 2days 146hb
Baby B 14wks 1 day 157hb
Baby C 13wks 4 days 154hb
The U/S tech could not get all 3 babies in one pic….They don’t cooperate very well…lol But got wonderful profile pics of each one.
I have been eating 2 eggs every morning for breakfast (plus other things) and I just can’t eat eggs anymore… the taste is gettng to me….yuck! So my nutritionist has given me some other recipes that include eggs so I’m still getting them…She’s so smart! 🙂
I’ve definetly have grown in just the last few days…my belly that is…lol You be the judge!
Here is what the 14wk update is for 1baby….multiple this by 3….he he
You are 14 weeks pregnant. (fetal age 12 weeks)
- The fetus is 3 and half inches (9cm) long.
- Weight is about 1 and half ounces (45 grams).
- The eyes are slowly moving towards the centre of the face.
- The nose is more pronounced. The ears are fully developed.
- The cheekbones are visible. The first hair is appearing.
- The kidneys are producing urine.
- In girls, the ovaries are moving down towards the pelvis.
- In boys, the prostate gland is developing.
- For girls, the ovaries move into the pelvis.
|Your baby now is peeing into the amniotic fluid round itself as well as making breathing movements. With the effect of hormones, the boys now have a prostate gland. For girls, the ovaries move from the abdomen into the pelvis. During this week of pregnancy the head and eyebrow hair develops.
Your child’s bones are getting harder and stronger by the day. Your baby’s skin is very transparent still. Lanugo (very fine hair) covers the baby’s body and will continue to grow until 26 weeks gestational age – Generally this will be shed prior to birth. Its purpose is to help protect baby’s skin while in all that water.
As your baby grows, your uterus and placenta are also growing. Six weeks ago, your uterus weighed 5 ounces (140 g). Now, it weighs about 8.75 ounces (250g). The amount of amniotic fluid around the baby is also increasing. There is now about 7.5 ounces (250ml) of fluid. You can easily feel your uterus about 3 inches (7.6cm) below your bellybutton.
Your baby is 3.42 inches (8.7cm) long and weighs about 1.52 ounces (43 grams)
